• Mayor Fenty has signed an executive order making it legal for you to rent out your home for the inauguration without having to register as a landlord or obtain a business license. That doesn’t mean renters can ignore any clauses in their leases that prohibit them from subleasing, however.

  • The D.C. Republican Committee today submitted a letter to the Board of Elections and Ethics arguing that Michael A. Brown is not really an independent candidate, and that the election results showing that he won an At-large D.C. Council seat should therefore not be certified. The BOEE says it has “no real procedure for a challenge filed prior to certification.”
