The Rock and Roll Hotel hosted an indie-rock cabaret of sorts last week, as Shara Worden, Clare Muldaur, and their troupe of musicians showcased their multifarious talents before a devoted D.C. audience. Both classically-trained, Worden (who records and performs as My Brightest Diamond) and Muldaur seem to be ideal touring companions, sharing the same backing band as well as a gift for combining classical, operatic, and avant-garde influences with an accessible pop sensibility and a theatrical flair.
