- WMATA’s chief of staff, Shiva Pant, tells local urbanist blog Greater Greater Washington it still isn’t considered a media outlet by the transit agency, despite an appeal, because they don’t “disseminate news to the general public.” We’re reading that decision as WMATA claiming the web site doesn’t have enough readers (they report they have 2000-2100 daily visitors), but agree that Pant’s argument about the nature of web sites is seriously flawed — read the whole thing.
- In case you missed it, the PIC has announced there will be a “Neighborhood Inaugural Ball” at the Washington Convention Center on Jan. 20, with some significant amount of tickets going to D.C. residents. Details on the number of tickets and how to apply for them are still being worked out.
