Was there a rip in time at yesterday’s Inauguration? No, but this photo by Flickr user xtol7 could lead someone to think otherwise. Pictured here are some of the members of the United States Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps, a group that has marched in every inaugural parade since John F. Kennedy’s in 1961. EXIF.
Update: 3:10 p.m.: The men in the photo above are not part of the Old Fife and Drum Corps; rather they are part of the Continental Color Guard, a specialty platoon of the 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment, a.k.a. “the Old Guard.” The Fife and Drum Corps are also part of that Regiment and have a very similar uniform – red jackets with blue trim, as opposed to the blue jackets with red trim pictured above. We apologize for the confusion.
