The conservative pundits are on to us. First David Brooks gets us on Ward 3 residents and their privileged, bleeding heart ways, and now George Will has exposed our until-now secret plan to secretly place an additional star on to the American flag.

In an op-ed published today in the Post, Will decries legislation that would grant the District a seat in the House of Representatives as an unconstitutional and shameless attempt by Democrats to add two more senators to their roster and an extra star to the flag. He even coins a new term for the legislation being debated by the House, writing, “Still, a freshly minted adjective describes this unseemly handing out, like party favors, of seats in the national legislature: Blagojevichian.”

Simmer down, George. Part of the current plan involves balancing off the District’s House seat with an additional seat for Republican-leaning Utah, and if anything, there hasn’t been any real discussion about senators or statehood for far too long. Besides, our mayor doesn’t have a single hair on his head, and surely anything “Blagojevichian” has to be associated with an abnormally thick and unwieldy coiffure.
