READING: At 7 p.m., National Geographic hosts the fifth annual Small Nations Poetry Reading. This year’s event is environmentally themed, and will feature the ambassadors of nine countries—Austria, Bahrain, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Malta, Monaco, and Slovenia—who will “read poetry from the countries they represent, in English and in their native languages.” $18.
MUSIC: Another great night of performances at the ongoing Arabesque Festival at the Kennedy Center brings B’net Houariyet, a group of Berber women from the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco, who play a number of different North African musical styles. Free, 6 p.m. at the Millennium Stage.
CLASSICAL: Austrian pianist Till Fellner will perform the complete Beethoven piano sonata cycle tonight at the Austrian Embassy, as part of the Embassy Series. Tickets: $50 (includes a fancy reception). We’re told a handful of tickets will be available at the door. 7:30 p.m.
