Gaithersburg Police Chief Being Paid Twice: Interesting story way back in A-8 of the Post this morning, about how Gaithersburg Police Chief John King is drawing both a salary for his position, plus a disability retirement pension from Montgomery County after injuring his back during years of service in the county police department. All together, he’s currently cashing in on $200,000 a year, which has finally caught the attention of the U.S. Attorney’s office in Maryland. They’ve subpoenaed records relating to King’s hiring in Gaithersburg and retirement from the county.
