ART: The DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities presents the Mayor’s Arts Awards tonight at the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage. This annual ceremony bestows recognition to individual artists, organizations and patrons of the arts from the District’s arts community. Past recipients of the Mayor’s Arts Awards include Tim Tate, Artomatic, The 48 Hour Film Project and Arena Stage, just to name a few. The ceremony kicks off at 6 p.m. and will include performances by Raheem DeVaughn, the Washington Ballet, Coral Cantigas and D.C.’s own Mambo Sauce. Free and open to the public.

TALK: The 14th Street Busboys and Poets has an evening of Welsh poetry and song tonight starting at 6 p.m., including work from Welsh writers Catrin Dafydd, Owen Sheers, Fflur Dafydd, Tom Anderson and Eurig Salisbury as well as D.C. poets Ethelbert Miller, Kyle Dargan and Fred Joiner. Free.

MOVIE: Did you manage to miss most of the past year’s Oscar-nominated films? The Arlington Cinema ‘n’ Drafthouse is offering up Milk and Doubt this week, with both scheduled for tonight’s $1 Monday night movie special. Milk is at 7:20 p.m., and Doubt follows at 9:50.
