Good morning, D.C. It’s a busy, busy, busy, busy day out there. Between this morning’s Cherry Blossom Parade (featuring 100% more Alex Trebek!), this evening’s Nationals-United-Wizards trifecta, and the general bustling of a sunny and mild Washingtonian Saturday, it’d probably be wise to bone up on this weekend’s extensive Metro schedule changes. Things seem to be moving fairly well so far this morning, but of course, patience will once again be of utmost importance when you’re looking to get around today.

Around the D.C. news-o-verse this morning:

>> Despite losing to the Buffalo Sabres in overtime last night, the Caps clinched first place in the Southeast Division — and the guarantee of a top three playoff seed and home-ice advantage that goes along with it — for the second consecutive year.

>> Georgetown’s student newspaper, The Hoya, is experiencing some serious backlash regarding their April Fool’s edition, which, for some reason, included an article titled “We Need More Interracial Loving At Georgetown.”

>> Forget the big-time budgetary changes coming up in 2010 — DCPS is tightening its belt for the remainder of the current fiscal year.
