TUESDAY
>> If you like Kings of Leon, you’re probably going to like Chicago’s The Interiors. This three piece offers the same style of rough but smart rock with a lot of country influence. They’re playing this evening at DC9 with The Wax Standard, The Jet Age and Mittenfields. $8, 8 p.m.

>> If you were, for some reason, giving the first O.C. soundtrack a listen and wondering, where’s Alexi Murdoch been recently?, the answer is: the Himalayas. He’s bringing his hauntingly beautiful folk sound to the Rock & Roll Hotel this evening, with Dawn Landes. $15, 8:30 p.m.

>> We thought the naming convention had already gotten too crowded when Ra Ra Rasputin joined Ra Ra Riot. But now Baltimore’s got it’s own variation in Rah! Rah! Replica. This one’s a Bikini Kill cover band, and they’re playing the Cat tonight, with Arlington’s The Bickersons. With that, we officially request this whole ra ra revolution closes off to new additions. $8, backstage, 9 p.m.

>> We saw Headlights play Iota a little over a year ago and we liked what we saw. See if the band can live up to the record they’ve set this evening. $12, 8:30 p.m.

>> Young Mexican alt-pop singer Ximena Sarinana’s gorgeous melodies remind rock en Espanol fans of her compatriot Julieta Venegas though others have compared her to Fiona Apple and even Norah Jones. Decide for yourself at the 9:30 Club. Matthew Santos, best known for his Coldplay-like vocals on Lupe Fiasco’s “Superstar,” opens. $18, 7 p.m.

>> Guitarist Richard Lloyd’s show last year with his Sufi Monkey Trio, the including fellow Television member, drummer Billy Ficca, won raves from some. They’re back at the Velvet Lounge with Ottley and Pillows. $10, 9 p.m.

WEDNESDAY
>> The Sonic Circuit Festival continues packing Pyramid Atlantic with amazing performers. This week they’re bringing Eugene Chadbourne, who brings together the terms “free jazz” and “banjo.” Locking him into a genre is unfair, as he’s studied across the board and come up with his own particular style. Head up to Silver Spring and check it out. It will definitely be worth the trip. $8, 8 p.m. sharp.
