Eventide Restaurant in Clarendon received its final permit this morning to operate its rooftop lounge, and will open the space to customers beginning Friday, weather permitting, General Manager and Partner Dave Pressly told DCist today. The rooftop will feature its own separate menu of cold dishes, including salads, chilled soups and small plates mid- to entree-sized plates like “angry shrimp” ($15), bison carpaccio ($12) and ceviche. Although not yet finished, the beverage menu includes “only a few summertime beers, hot weather-inspired cocktails and wines leaning heavily towards refreshing whites and roses,” Pressley said. Eventide’s rooftop will have a similar door policy as the rest of the bar: there is a patron limit for the rooftop bar, and once it’s at capacity, guests can wait in the lower bar until space becomes available. If this weekend’s predicted rain makes the rooftop’s debut a bust, look for rooftop service on the first nice day thereafter.
