PROTEST: As we mentioned earlier, there will be a gathering in Dupont Circle tonight at 8:30 p.m. to protest the ruling by the California Supreme Court upholding Prop 8.

MOVIE: Catch the second of three screenings of Shallow Grave. Danny Boyle’s 1994 feature film debut about three flatmates (including Ewan McGregor) who come into a huge pile of cash, tonight at AFI at 9 p.m. Read more about it in Popcorn & Candy.

MUSIC: As much as it sucks to watch your favorite local acts disintegrate, it can be pretty interesting to see what what collaborations arise from the ashes of the defunct bands. Former members of Metropolitan and The Fake Accents have formed The Cheniers, who will be playing the Velvet Lounge along with Americans in France, Foul Swoops and Invisible Hand. 9pm, 18+, $7.

ART: Head to the Corcoran for a book signing with photographer Pat York. Her book, Fame & Frame features the amazing access she’s had over the decades to capture artists in their element. 7 p.m., $20.
