>> Lots and lots to see at Artomatic tonight. We’re especially intrigued by a performance by Guiles and Wiles, set for 8 p.m. on the 6th floor Dance/Theatre Stage, which claims to combine belly dancing with a drag king show.
>> SILVERDOCS is also ongoing through the weekend. Look over the schedule, utilize the stand-by lines (budget 45 minutes to an hour of waiting) for sold out shows, and check back often for DCist’s latest reviews.
>> Pianist and stellar Latin jazz artist Benito Gonzalez is back in D.C. this weekend, leading a band through 8:30 and 10:30 p.m. sets on Friday and Saturday at Bohemian Caverns. Tickets are $18. After Friday’s second set, you can stick around and catch DCist faves, The Young Lions.
>> Baltimore’s Carolyn Malachi switches between jazz vocalist to emcee rather effortlessly, sometimes in the same song. She’ll be at Bloom Bars in support of her new release, Revenge of the Smart Chicks II: Ambitious Gods. Free, 8 p.m.
>> Natalie Portman’s Shaved Head continue their June residency at Liberation Dance Party this week. Their brand of electro pop will certainly fit in seamlessly with DC9‘s weekly indie dance party. $8; open bar (rail drinks) 9-10:30 p.m.
>> The Rosslyn BID is showing Labyrinth tonight as part of their I Love the ’80s outdoor movie series. At Gateway Park at dusk. If you feel like dancing afterward, head over to Continental, where they’ll be throwing a free ’80s after party.
