UPDATE: Dr. Gridlock has the names of two more victims: Major General David F. Wherley Jr., former commanding general, Joint Force Headquarters, District of Columbia National Guard, and his wife Ann Wherley, a mortgage banker, both 62.

City officials have identified four more victims in yesterday’s fatal Metrorail crash (via AP).

In addition to Jeanice McMillan, 42, the Metrorail operator who was previously identified, the following people died in the collision: Mary Doolittle, 59, of Northwest D.C.; Ana Fernandez, 40, of Hyattsville, Md.; Dennis Hawkins, 64, of Southeast D.C. and Lavonda King, 23, of Northeast D.C. WUSA9 has a story up about Fernandez, who reportedly left behind six children.

According to the latest numbers, four more victims have yet to be publicly identified.

The Post is reporting that the striking rail car involved in the crash was two months overdue for brake maintenance.
