Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? starring Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor plays for free tonight at the National Theatre, the last selection of the Who’s Afraid of Elizabeth Taylor? series. The movie starts at 6:30 p.m. (1321 Pennsylvania Ave., NW) and is free on a first come-first seated basis, with doors opening at 6 p.m.
MUSIC: Mogwai is in town tonight, a band that jokes it would rather become the world’s largest band before the most talented, but their shows at the 9:30 Club rarely fail to impress. Mogwai performs tonight with guitarist Chris Brokaw, $25, 7 p.m. Tickets are still available.
THEATER: Catch a performance of dramatic readings of Andy Warhol quotations, in a show titled, Warhol Himself: Culture in Motion Performance, at the Reynolds Center for American Art and Portraiturefor’s McEvoy Auditorium (enter from the G and 750 Street (approximately) side of the museum. At the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage, Active Cultures Theatre and Open Circle Theatre present music from a musical about Alexander Graham Bell, Edward Miner Gallaudet, Helen Keller, and their fight for control of deaf communication. Free, 6 p.m.
READING: Catch Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) reading excerpts from and signing copies of her new novel, Blind Trust, a political thriller concerning the mess politicians create in the name of preventing terrorism. The reading is free at Politics and Prose, 7 p.m.
