FRIDAY
>> Rosslyn’s I Love the ’80s outdoor film festival says goodbye tonight, and is offering yet another chance to pay tribute to the late, great John Hughes. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. The film starts at dusk at Gateway Park.

>> Make your rounds in Dupont tonight for Hillyer’s opening of Multiplying the Body: Gender Performance Remembered and Reconstructed by Susan Serafin and Colossus (inspired by the poem of the same name by David C. Ward) by Nekisha Durrett, with food, drinks and tunes by DJ Fleg from 6 – 9 p.m. For a $5 suggested donation, your other two stops of the night can be at the Foundry Gallery for a silent auction to benefit the Duke Ellington School of the Arts from 6 – 8 p.m., and Studio Gallery will also have an opening 6 – 8 p.m.

>> This weekend has a lot of great films opening. We recommend catching any of the movies from Cinema and The Spanish Civil War at the AFI Silver, but be sure to check all our other film picks for the week.

>> Tonight’s Jazz in the Garden features guitarist Phil Mathieu, who plays a range of classical solo, chamber recital, and jazz, 5 – 8:30 p.m, free.

SATURDAY
>> Consider Vulture Awareness Day at the National Zoo. From 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., you’ll be able to see meet the zoo’s king vulture and watch him enjoy a special frozen treat (yum?), while volunteer interpreters offer insight into the lives of these large birds.

>> Head to the National Galley of Art at 4 p.m. (or Sunday at 2 p.m.) for a screening of Alain Resnais’ Last Year at Marienbadab. The elegant film’s story surrounds a man who tries to convince a disbelieving woman that a year before, they had been in love. Free.

>> The Kennedy Center kicks off its annual Page-to-Stage festival, a three-day event offering free readings and open rehearsals of plays and musicals being developed by more than 40 D.C.-area theater companies. 2-10 p.m. each day. Free.

>> Montgomery County Fairgrounds host “Rock the House Festival” where you’ll find Pitbull, Ludacris,Method Man, Redman, EPMD, Baby Bash, Inspectah Deck, and Keith Murray, $29-$85, 11 a.m.

>> Iota is hosting an early show of the Waco Brothers at 4 p.m., with doors opening at 3:30 p.m. for $15.

>> !!! and Australia’s Pivot are the Black Cat for what should be a high energy show. 9 p.m., $16 adv., $18 at the door.

>> The place to be for dancing tonight is the big Fatback party at the 9:30 Club. 9 p.m. $10.

SUNDAY:
>> Pianist Yelena Koshelevskaya, aka Sabine, will play at Twins Jazz on with a group that includes flautist Arch Thompson and bassist Oliver Albertini. Call 202-234-0072 for set time and cover information.

>> Or get your dancing shoes on for the Prince vs. Michael Jackson party at the Black Cat, $15/$13 in advance. Given the King of Pop’s recent demise, this should be a very special episode of DJ Dredd’s regular holiday weekend “Vs.” parties.
