READING: The 14th Street Busboys hosts author Sherry Wolf of Sexuality and Socialism: History, Politics, and Theory of LGBT Liberation, to discuss “essays on the roots of LGBT oppression, the construction of sexual and gender identities, the history of the gay movement, and how to unite the oppressed and exploited to win sexual liberation for all.” Free, 6:30 p.m.

MOVIE: The Avalon hosts a special screening of Youssou N’Dour: I Bring What I Love at 8 p.m. The film tells the story of 2005 Grammy winning artist Youssou N’Dour, who rose to fame with the release of his album, Egypt, in which he presents his Islamic faith as a peaceable and tolerant religion. Denounced as blasphemy in his native Senegal, I Bring What I Love is a two year story of how N’Dour faced challenges and eventually wins over audiences both at home and abroad. $10.50.
