The woman who was struck by a Metrobus in Trinidad on Monday evening has died, according to D.C. Police. The victim, who has been identified as Stephanie Richardson, 61, of the 1600 block of 11th Place NE, died at just after 4 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.

The MPD’s Major Crash Investigations Unit are investigating the fatal collision. Richardson was severely injured when a Metrobus operator passing another bus on the D8 route struck her as she was exiting the second bus. The incident occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. Monday on Mount Olivet Road NE. Richardson was transported to Washington Hospital Center, where she died today.

Police say no charges have been filed against the driver at this time, but the investigation is ongoing.
