View Marine Corps Marathon Closures in a larger map
Plenty of area residents will be enjoying some absolutely fantastic weather for tomorrow’s Marine Corps Marathon, whether they are running, cheering, or just catching a peek while they wander around town.
But will local drivers enjoy the road closures which the Marathon will inflict? Uh, probably not. Obviously, race organizers are asking people to take public transportation to the race, and Metro is opening tomorrow at 5 a.m. The race will also cause the rerouting of 24 bus routes in Virginia and D.C.
The map above should give you a rough idea of the local road disruptions in the District, which are scheduled to be in effect between 4 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. tomorrow, but the folks in charge of the Marathon have also supplied us with the lengthy text list of the roads affected and the approximate times which they will be closed — you can find that after the jump. (There’s a lot.) Just don’t expect to be able to get across the Potomac through the city with any sort of relative ease.
