The Thanksgiving holiday weekend will see a number of changes to Metrorail and Metrobus schedules, so be sure to make a note of them as you try to get around the city over the next few days.

Metrorail

  • Wednesday, Nov. 25: 5 a.m. to midnight
  • Thursday, Nov. 26 (Thanksgiving Day): 7 a.m. to midnight
  • Friday, Nov. 27: 5 a.m. to 3 a.m.
  • Saturday, Nov. 28: 7 a.m. to 3 a.m.
  • Sunday, Nov. 29: 7 a.m. to midnight

Metrobus

  • Note that all Metrobuses will be operating on a Sunday schedule on Thanksgiving Day. Find all the relevant bus system schedules for Thursday here.
  • Metro will also be rerouting four bus lines, the J2, 10A, 10B and 4B, on Thanksgiving morning for races being held in Alexandria, Arlington, Bethesda and Chevy Chase. More details here.
  • If you’re trying to get to and from an airport, Metro is adding a few additional buses today and Sunday on their routes to both BWI and Dulles. The B30 bus that travels from Greenbelt to BWI will have two additional articulated buses serving its route all day. And on the 5A route that serves Dulles from both L’Enfant Plaza and Rosslyn, today those buses will be leaving every 20 minutes, while on Saturday and Sunday they will operate every 30 minutes.
