Following several hours spent trying to subdue him — an effort that including zapping him with a Taser multiple times — Rockville police were forced to shoot Jesus, a 120-pound Rottweiler/Pit bull mix. Police were summoned after the dog reportedly snapped, attacking his owner, who suffered injuries consistent with a berserk attack from a massive, wrathful dog. Fortunately, the dog did not attack the four police offers who were at one point in the house working to bring down the animal — or the three children present in the home. The MPD’s use of Tasers has sparked controversy in the past, but in a situation where it was most justified, the Taser didn’t serve any use. (The Taser also couldn’t stop Jim Spellman.)
