MOVIE: At The Warehouse, the Washington Psychotronic Film Society screens Jailbird Rock tonight. Think women, big hair, shoulder pads, jail, showers, and dance. 8 p.m., $2 suggested donation.

Don’t forget the Washington Jewish Film Festival is still underway. Tonight at the DCJCC there are five short films screening at 8:30 p.m., for $11 (at the door only).

Or you can head to AFI Silver to see one of the most stylish thrillers ever made; Alfred Hitchcock’s classic North by Northwest, starring Cary Grant, screens at 6:30 and 9:30 p.m.

MUSIC: Three Stars alums The Moderate headline the backstage of the Black Cat, with Choo Choo La Rouge and Timothy Bracy’s Collection Agency, including former members of the Mendoza Line. $8, 9 p.m.

Mint Condition is wrapping up their two-day stay at the Birchmere tonight in support of their latest album, 2008’s E-Life. $55, 7:30 p.m.

TREE LIGHTING: If the weather holds out long enough, stroll by the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol for the lighting of the Capitol Christmas Tree tonight at 5 p.m. The event is scheduled to include performances by the United States Marine Band and the Congressional Chorus, along with an appearance by Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. No tickets required.
