Tonight is a great time to get a sneak preview of our venue for the 2010 DCist Exposed Photography Show, not to mention show a little hometown love. ReadysetDC launched the official version of their web site today, and will be throwing a celebration with For the Love of DC at Long View Gallery tonight. Enjoy a whole line up of DJs, plus a surprise band; photography by four artists, including former Exposed winner Tracy Clayton and an art installation by No Kings Collective. Free but RSVP requested by 5 p.m. 7 p.m. to midnight.

>> Speaking of D.C. love, stop by the opening of Friend Request: MCA Invitational this Friday. Over 20 members of the Mid-City Artists, including Sondra N. Arkin, Mark Parascandola and Ellyn Weiss, will show their work at Coldwell Banker’s Art17 gallery. 5 to 8 p.m.

>> Head up to Mt. Rainer for two great open houses on Saturday. The Washington Glass School and Red Dirt Studios will open their doors to guests for a holiday party and sale. See where Tim Tate, Margaret Boozer and others create their fantastic works of art and maybe buy some to take home. Washington Glass School open 2 to 6 p.m.; Red Dirt Studio open 12 to 5 p.m.

>> Hamiltonian Gallery will have an opening on Saturday for photographer Frank Hallam Day and Hamiltonian Fellow, Jonathan Monaghan. See how each artist presents “recontextualized notions of the West.” 7 to 9 p.m.

>> We talked about the new art subscription service Project Dispatch a few weeks ago. Visit their Winter Wonder What I’ll Get event and see some of the work you can buy this Friday, 7 to 11 p.m. at 1116 Park Road NW.

>> See Studio H Gallery’s second show at the reception for Wonderment, an Exploration of the Indeterminate, featuring work by Katherine Mann, Kim Manfredi & Jenny Mullins, on Saturday, 6 to 9 p.m.

More Holiday Sales:

> The Corocran’s Off the Walls sale is Thursday through Saturday, featuring work by students, alumni and faculty. This is also your last weekend to see Edward Burtynsky’s Oil.
