TALK: The Washington Post’s Ezra Klein, Slate’s David Plotz, and SpeakeasyDC’s Amy Saidman are among an intriguing line-up who will appear on the Sixth & I Historic Synagogue’s stage tonight to share short, autobiographical stories about growing up Jewish. Tickets to “My So-Called Jewish Life” are $12. 7:30 p.m.

JAZZ: Singer Denine “Lady D” Wilson has been receiving notice in her native Baltimore, and is now trying to break into the the District’s jazz scene. The vocalist, whose music has been featured on HBO’s The Wire, performs tonight at Twins Jazz. Call 202-234-0072 for set time and cover information.

ART: Mysterious new gallery The Wool Exploratorium (2250 11th Street NW) opens Bauble tonight, an exhibit featuring the work of 31 artists who were challenged to use wool to recreate a toy from their childhood. Also featured tonight are DJ’s Todd Threats and Vince Brown, who will spin for the free at the opening reception, which runs from 6 – 9 p.m.

MUSIC: Singer-songwriter Erin McKeown performs at Iota tonight, with Laura Tsaggaris opening, 8:30 p.m., $18.

Say what you will about Irish-themed Chinatown bar Fado, but we always have a grand time there whenever the local lads from Scythian take the stage. Tonight is the band’s regular holiday-themed concert, which should feature a whole lot of singalongs. $5, 9:30 p.m. And try your hand at the ugly Christmas sweater contest — winner takes home $200.
