MUSIC: Swervedriver singer Adam Franklin’s solo project, Adam Franklin & Bolts of Melody, headline tonight’s must-see show at DC9. Locals The Jet Age open; $10, 9 p.m.

Across the street at Velvet Lounge is the equally intriguing line-up of The Child Ballads, Miss Shevaughn & Yuma Wray, and Typefighter. You may want to consider running back and forth between the two bars tonight. 9 p.m., $8.

MOVIE: We’ve been having such a good time at the Black Cat‘s drink and a movie events this week, we can’t resist recommending tonight’s final edition, too. Stop by for a “classy” champagne cocktail and an even classier 1930s noir-themed double feature: The Thin Man and Topper. 8:30 p.m., free.

KARAOKE: The twice-monthly Kostume Karaoke night at Solly’s has long been one of our favorite ways to spend every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month. But what about those sad, lonely other two Wednesdays? As luck would have it, Kostume Karaoke has expanded, and is now at Little Miss Whiskey’s Golden Dollar every 1st and 3rd Wednesday. Stop by tonight for their first outing in this second venue and discover for yourself why singing Dolly Parton songs while wearing a sparkly tube top and a huge yellow wig is just more fun. More info on their Facebook page. 8 p.m.
