Hey, snow! Are we in store for the same kind of Snowpocalypse that we saw on the weekend before Christmas? Probably not. Our snow-tested friends at the Capital Weather Gang are calling for 3 to 6 inches of the fluffy stuff in the District, though that estimate has marginally increased as snow has begun to move, south to north, through the area. Frigidly cold temperatures in the 20s are causing the snow to stick moreso than normally. DDOT is warning drivers of already slick roads, but not to worry: NBC4 weatherguy Chuck Bell just prognosticated the snow as “very pleasant and very usable,” so we’d imagine that it won’t play with our Saturday plans — like saying goodbye to Butterstick, sniffle — that much.

In other news this morning:

>> The Washington Times has a new editor-in-chief, says Politico’s Michael Calderone: Sam Dealey, a contributor for U.S. News and World Report, GQ, Details, and The New York Times, will take the reins of the struggling paper.

>> A fantastic bit of color from the Post’s Michael Lee, reporting on the Wizards’ two-point win over hapless New Jersey last night:

Before the game, Coach Flip Saunders said that not much had changed for the Wizards, “but I think over the long haul, you try to get some normalcy.” But that is a challenge after dealing with a potentially dangerous encounter between Arenas and Crittenton. In some ways, the language surrounding the normal routine has changed. When a reporter asked Saunders about the morning shootaround, Saunders corrected him and said, “Walkthrough.”

>> The D.C. Fire and EMS twitter feed is one of this editor’s favorites around town, not just for its informative blurbs, but also the little things. This morning, @dcfireems not only told us about a small fire on the tracks at the Rhode Island Avenue Metro station, but also had the quick wit to add “(no breakfast)” on a tweet about a small kitchen fire at the Embassy Suites on 10th Street NW.
