  • A very strange story from the Examiner about a mentally ill woman who managed to exploit “a loophole in D.C. tax office online systems to gain unauthorized access to taxpayer accounts, establish herself as the owner of dozens of businesses and file returns on their behalf.” She wasn’t a city employee, which we guess makes it … better? Worse?
  • The Hill reports on how the U.S. Capitol is prepping for the storm. “Capitol Police officials have begun booking hotel rooms near the Capitol for officers who are scheduled to work on Saturday but who don’t live nearby.”
  • Police are investigating the death of Todd Angelo Jackson, 28, who died Wednesday night at the Columbia Heights Village complex, as a homicide.
  • Snow isn’t the only white stuff currently falling in the Metro system.
  • Talk about timing: D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier says the investigation into the cop with a gun at a snowball fight is done. She hasn’t seen it yet though, but expects to soon.
