MUSIC: Sweden’s legendary ’60s-inspired space rockers The Soundtrack of Our Lives are in town tonight, playing, where else, the House of Sweden. That’s an early show set to start promptly at 7 p.m. ($15), because the band has to be able to get across town to the Black Cat in time for its later set, featuring opener Nico Vega (doors at 8 p.m., $15).
MOVIE: The AFI Silver’s Jean Arthur retrospective offers up a fun glimpse of Washington life in the late 1930s tonight. The More the Merrier is a comedy starring Arthur as a young office worker in D.C. in search of a female roommate to help pay the bills, but who instead ends up with a charming millionaire (Charles Coburn) who starts meddling in her love life. If only more Craigslist roommate ads turned up charming millionaires, right ladies? 7 p.m.
