- Not surprising, but important nonetheless: the Associated Press is reporting that the Supreme Court has turned down down requests to stop the District’s gay marriage law, which now appears certain to take effect on Wednesday. See you at the courthouse!
- Sen. Jim Bunning’s one-man filibuster on funding for federal transportation projects, among other things, is costing every state big money, and D.C. is no exception. WAMU reports that DDOT may be forced to lay off workers if this thing doesn’t get resolved this week.
- DC Agenda reports on rumblings of a possible boycott against the Landmark E Street Cinema because the movie theater has started renting out its facilities to Hope Christian Church for extension services on Sunday mornings — the same church led by prominent same-sex marriage opponent Bishop Harry Jackson.
- The Washington Business Journal runs down the latest on cutbacks at the U.S. Postal Service. The plans “did not include specific details,” but it’s definitely looking like more job cuts and the end of Saturday mail delivery are on the table.
