Good morning, Washington. Dark gray skies have returned to our city, promising rain, eventually, but later in the week. Corey Haim of ’80s teen fame is dead of an overdose. And outgoing Rep. Eric Massa has admitted to groping a male staffer during a tickle fight in the group house he shared with five aides on Capitol Hill. It just feels like the kind of morning you should get back into bed and hope everything makes more sense tomorrow.

More Trouble for D.C. EMS: Just a few days after news broke that D.C.’s Fire and Emergency Medical Services department was investigating the death of a toddler who had only hours before been evaluated by paramedics, another allegation of misconduct surfaces. This time, as the Washington Post reports, D.C. resident Kimberley Kelsey, 39, says that back in December, EMS personnel refused to transport her to a hospital even though she was having breathing problems. She later called 911 again and was eventually taken to Georgetown University Hospital, where she was admitted to intensive care. The fire department said it is looking into Kelsey’s complaint.

Is Vince Gray’s Fence Problem Still a Problem? The Washington Times’ Jeffrey Anderson seems to think so, as he follows up today on his scoop from several months back. It appears that DDOT is prepared to fine the D.C. Council Chairman as much as $300 a day if he fails to file for a permit for the fence, which has apparently run afoul of city ordinances because of its size. In his story, Anderson suggests that the lingering fence issue is part of the reason why “Gray has been slow to throw his hat in the ring” to run for mayor against Adrian Fenty.

This Day in DCist: Last year, local retail employees were on edge after a series of armed robberies targeting smaller stores and boutiques, and the year before that, Amsterdam Falafel in Adams Morgan started accepting Euros.
