We don’t often use monument photos for Photo of the Day, mostly because we’ve seen them all before. But once in a while, we see a new perspective on the familiar, or a picture executed so well it takes our breath away. Flickr user eschn3am executed what must be the perfect picture of the Lincoln Memorial. Using a neutral density filter, he took a 10-minute exposure with the fading light of day. Using such a long exposure makes the clouds go milky and the well lit, static monument stand out. Check out a few more of his experiments at the Lincoln. (EXIF)
