- Outgoing WMATA GM John Catoe shared some parting thoughts with WTOP today, after his last Metro board meeting. “Am I satisfied completely? No. I’m hard to satisfy in that respect. But I am happy about a lot of things that have occurred, yes. And I’m upset about other things that occurred, also — specifically, the last seven or eight months.” Catoe’s last day is April 2.
- Classic! Hassan Mohammadi, the same man who admitted back in 1990 that he gave a whole lot of cocaine to then-Mayor Marion Barry, has been donating big sums of money to the campaigns of both Adrian Fenty and Ward 1 challenger Jeff Smith, Mike DeBonis reports at City Desk.

- The D.C. Fiscal Policy Institute has a new report showing that the recession has taken an exceptional toll on District residents. The poverty rate in D.C. is estimated to have increased from 16.9 percent in 2008 to 18.9 percent in 2009.
