D.C.’s famed cherry blossoms peaked even earlier than expected on Wednesday, even after the dates for peak bloom were moved up twice already this year. The National Park Service now says peak bloom technically already came and went — it lasted all of one day, which turned out to be March 31.

How long the overall blooming period will now last is an open question, with the Park Service going so far as to just leave the end date as a question mark on its web site. But the flowers should be looking very pretty at least well into next week, so get on down to see them while you still can.
