JOBS: Want a new job that’s in D.C. and is good for the environment? Then join Anca Novacovici and Dan Triman, authors of the D.C. Metro Area Green Career & Jobs Guide, along with Elizabeth Lindsey, Policy Advisor for the Office of the Director of the D.C. Department of Employment Services at Busboys & Poets (5th and K location) for a free 6:30 p.m. “green job session.” They’ll answer your questions and direct you to D.C. specific green job resources.
MUSIC: Unfortunately, the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club is sold out at the 9:30 Club tonight, and while there are plenty of people looking for tickets to buy, it doesn’t look like Craig has many up for sale. Perhaps instead check out Tim Barry with Red Clay River at the Black Cat backstage at 8:30 p.m. tonight. Tickets are $10.
CHERRY BLOSSOMS: It’s 2 p.m. on Saturday and you think, “Oh, what a good time to check out the cherry blossoms.” Unfortunately, everyone else has the exact same idea. Perhaps this year, take in the Tidal Basin at an atypical time, when the sun has gone down and the tourists have most likely gone home. Tonight, through April 11, tour the cherry blossoms by ranger-guided lantern walk. Meet up with flashlight in hand at either the Tidal Basin Paddle Boats or the Washington Monument Stone Lodge between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. for a two mile tour with a National Park Service Ranger around the trees.
