- The Washington Post just launched Real Art D.C., which aims to show the best artists around the DMV area. Are the Post’s art critics involved in this operation at all?
- ABC7 has the story on the new library that opened at 3935 Benning Road NE — the first new library to open in the District in 20 years. Apparently, D.C. Public Libraries chief Ginnie Cooper has a “signature cheer” and you can get a taste of that here.
- Actress Reese Witherspoon flew in to the District with her kids for the White House Easter Egg Roll, says USA Today. For the record, Sweet Home Alabama is good, but it’s no Legally Blonde.
- PBS’s Antique Roadshow is also taping in D.C.! Check in with WETA to submit your name for a drawing for tickets. The taping doesn’t happen until August, but the deadline to enter the ticket drawing is April 19.
- D.C. is getting a ferry?
- The Kreeger Museum has published a handsome catalog and it’s now available on Amazon. The essay by former Washington Post architecture critic Benjamin Forgey ought to be worth the cost alone.
- Mayor Adrian Fenty will attend several or all of the funeral for the men killed in Southeast while he was away in Jamaica, the Washington Post says
