Metro set a new ridership record on Friday, just a day after posting a new ridership record on Thursday, ABC7 reports. On April 2, users enjoyed 891,240 trips on Metrorail, making Friday the new second highest all-time traffic day for the system. That stills fall short of the record set on the day of President Barack Obama’s inauguration, when Metrorail trips eclipsed the seven-digit marker. Still, he District’s riding high, having just set a record only to smash it the very next day. Surely record-setting traffic tells politicians that the time is not now to drastically cut Metro services. WMATA has a million ways to get it — someone bring them back some money please?
