Wednesday:

Thursday:

>> DJ Dredd‘s got another gig this week. “Close 2 the Edge” is a trip down memory lane to the land of golden era hip-hop. Black Cat‘s backstage is the venue. $7, 9:30 p.m.

>> “Red Fridays” at the U Street Music Hall hasn’t been around long but already has made itself notable for upping the dance music ante in the District. This week Chicago house legend Jesse Saunders will be in town with D.C.’s own Sam Burns and Joe L. $TBA, 10 p.m.
