Remember the other day when a D.C. police officer said he’d been carjacked in Baltimore? Well, it turns out the whole thing didn’t go down quite the way he said it did. Officer Kevin Carey, who a little Googling reveals is a member of the Fifth District’s vice unit, originally said that a woman and an armed man had stepped in front of his 2009 Dodge Magnum, ordered him out and made off with the vehicle. But the Associated Press (via WTOP) reports that Carey now admits that he actually picked the woman up to give her a ride in exchange for $10. When he stopped to get gas, the suspect, 18-year-old Keara Moodie, waved another man over to the car and the two drove off together, according to the AP.
