To follow up on last week’s post about an armed robbery at the Game Stop on Maryland Ave. NE, D.C. Police have announced that an arrest has been made in the case. Fifth District commander Lamar D. Greene sent out the following message to MPD email lists earlier today:

On April 8, 2010, a suspect entered the Game Stop store located with in the Hechinger Mall shopping complex. Once inside the location he produced a handgun and robbed the store clerk of several hundred dollars and fled the scene on foot. The Fifth District responded and secured the scene. The investigative process was initiated and quickly revealed the identity of the suspect, an adult male named Demarco Scott. A short track of the suspect lead detectives to his home address, on April 19, 2010, he was placed under arrest without incident, Detectives are looking at this subject for several robberies throughout the area!!!! Excellent investigative follow up lead to Mr. Scott’s removal from of community!!!

Good news indeed, as evidenced by Cmdr. Greene’s excessive exclamation point usage.
