- A little bit more from DC WASA on today’s chlorine problem: Officials say that during the warning period, their measurements showed chlorine levels at 6.4 milligrams per liter, which is above the standard of 4 mg/L. Those levels have since returned to normal in the affected area, but do take heed of a couple of precautions they are recommending.
- D.C. Police have arrested a second suspect in the disturbing abduction case of a Wilson High School teacher, WTTG/FOX5 reports. Jeremiah Juwley, 25, has been charged with one count of first degree assault, one count of false imprisonment and one count of robbery.
- DC Agenda reports that slain Shaw Middle School principal Brian Betts was gay, though there is no word from investigators whether Betts’ murder was related to his sexual orientation. Meanwhile, Montgomery County police say they have confirmed that Betts was alive at 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, when he placed a phone call (via the Examiner).
- All charges against alleged Wonderland snowball thrower Maria Lewis have been dropped, the Post’s Crime Scene blog reports. The quote from Lewis: ‘”I feel great! Also not surprised,” wrote Lewis in an e-mail Tuesday. “The whole thing was so ridiculous.”‘
