FOOD & DRINK: Comet Ping Pong (5037 Connecticut Ave. NW) is back in business … the drinking business that is, now that that their liquor license has been renewed. Owner James Alefantis emailed us on Wednesday to let us know that their ABC license problems have at last been resolved. To celebrate, stop by and sample some new beers on tap (like the seasonal New Holland Golden Cap and “delicately herbal” Schloss Eggenberg Pilsner).

ART: The Freer and Sackler Galleries continue their Asia After Dark series tonight with Tibetan Twilight. Take in the exhibit The Realm of the Buddha, hear music from DJ Chris Linux and Tibetan performer Tsewang Yangzom. Tickets $20 at the door (cash only); cash bar. 6:30-10:30 p.m

TALK: A discussion on The Supreme Court, Free Speech, and Democracy takes place tonight at the Sixth and I Historic Synagogue. Speakers include Ira Glasser (former Executive Director of the ACLU), Jamin Raskin (Professor of Law), Laurence E. Gold (Associate General Counsel of the AFL-CIO), and John C. Brittain (Professor of Law). The event, sponsored by the ACLU of the Nation’s Capitol, is free and open to the public, but they request attendees RSVP. 7 p.m.
