  • Here we go again. It’s looking like two Red Line trains narrowly avoided crashing into each other on Wednesday. WTOP reports that one train operator approaching the Forest Glen Station “had to hit the emergency brake as the train approached another train taking on passengers at the platform.”
  • Via WJLA, Amtrak delays have ended out of Union Station following an earlier incident where a man was struck and killed by an Acela train outside of BWI.
  • D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty has named Christophe Tulou, a former environmental consultant, to run the District Department of the Environment. The Washington Business Journal offers some background on Tulou.
  • A man was found shot in Shaw at around 2:30 a.m. Thursday morning, police say.
  • More wackiness out of ANC 8E. Ron Moten’s Peaceoholics has filed a libel lawsuit against Sandra Seegers over that whole Congress Heights youth home debacle. The Post’s Christy Goodman reports that Moten’s allegations include that following that heated neighborhood meeting, ‘Seegars “began maliciously distributing false, defamatory and disparaging messages about Plaintiff organization, the Peaceoholics,” via e-mail and the Internet.
  • The D.C. Fiscal Policy Institute is worried about proposed cuts to community health centers.
