MOVIES: Grab your lawn chair and pray for no rain, the NoMa outdoor film series returns for the season tonight (L St. between 2nd and 3rd NE). This evening’s selection is Spaceballs. And if watching free movies makes you hungry, you can purchase snacks and Italian ice or Smokin’ Somethin BBQ on site. The rest of NoMa’s summer film lineup looks pretty great as well, with a “Future is Now” theme featuring movies like WALL-E, Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, Donnie Darko, and more. Free, 7 p.m.

ARTS: Ever been to the ballet and thought, “This would be better if drinking was involved”? The Washington Ballet may be reading your mind. Tonight they present Beer and Ballet. First, see a rehearsal by the company, then chat with the dancers over cold ones at a post-performance happy hour. $25, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

HIP-HOP: U Street Music Hall (1115 U Street NW) hosts DJ Dredd tonight, who will be spinning hip-hop, soul, and dance tunes. Also on deck: Harry Hotter. Free, 9 p.m.

FOOD & DRINK: The Big Hunt (1345 Connecticut Ave. NW) celebrates its new selection of big craft beers (22 oz.) and DC Beer unleashes its new Neighborhood Guides at the DC Beer Tweetup tonight. 6-8 p.m.
