The D.C. Department of Parks and Recreation is looking for lifeguards for the city’s pools (indoor and outdoor) and spray parks this summer, and is hosting a number of Lifeguard Job Fairs to find them.

The Lifeguard Job Fairs are being held at the Turkey Thicket Recreation Center (1100 Michigan Avenue NE) tonight from 4- 7 p.m., next Saturday, May 22 from 9 a.m. to noon, and Thursday, May 27 from 4-7 p.m.

Those interested in being lifeguards don’t need to already be certified. DPR will train and certify lifeguards for free. Lifeguards must be 15 years of age or older and must fill out a DPR Summer 2010 Preliminary Employment Application as well as a DC Employment Application.
