FOOD & DRINK: Eat with the animals at ZooFari 2010 tonight at the National Zoo. While the fund-raising event’s ticket price ($125 for FONZ members, $175 for nonmembers) is definitely steep, the cost does include food from 100 restaurants, a selection of wine, and live entertainment. Plus, as the Zoo points out, $25 of your ticket price is tax deductible.

Cook up your own eating event with locally grown food from the Freshfarm Market at Penn Quarter (8th St. NW, between D and E Sts. NW). Shop for dairy, produce, plants, and more from 3 to 7 p.m.

HAPPY HOUR: The Looking Glass Lounge (3634 Georgia Ave. NW) is throwing a Luau tonight, complete with happy hour all night and a limbo contest. 7 – 11 p.m.

CLASSICAL: John Adams conducts the National Symphony Orchestra in a performance of his piece The Dharma at Big Sur. Other selections of the night include Adams’ Doctor Atomic Symphony and pieces by Britten and Stravinsky. 7 p.m. Tickets $20- $85.

Catch a free concert from composer Chinary Ung and the Da Capo Chamber Players at the Freer Gallery of Art. 7:30 p.m.
