Good news for D.C. voting rights and statehood activists — funding for education, advocacy and outreach that was excluded from Mayor Adrian Fenty’s 2011 budget has been restored by the D.C. Council. According to a tweet from the WBJ’s Michael Neibaeur, $250,000 has been added for statehood and voting rights activities, an increase from the $100,000 allotted in 2010 but down from the $500,000 per year that had been budgeted in years past.
