FOOD & DRINK: Bummed you didn’t score SAVOR tickets before they sold out? Heavy Seas Beer is hosting a SAVOR ticket raffle at Elephant & Castle (900 19th St. NW). For every Loose Cannon IPA you buy ($1 off regular price) you receive one raffle ticket. 6-9 p.m., with the drawing at 9 p.m.

The Floyds of Three Floyds Brewing come to the Brickskeller (1523 22nd St. NW) tonight to host a tasting of no less than eight of their beers (some unavailable in the area). $35, 6:30-10 p.m.

OPERA: It’s Generation O night at the Washington National Opera. At 6 p.m. attend a pre-performance reception at 600 Restaurant at the Watergate (600 New Hampshire Ave. NW) for drink specials and free appetizers. This is followed by an open orchestra rehearsal at 7:30 p.m. in the Opera House. Then at 8:30 p.m. conclude the night with a post-performance question and answer session with WNO staff. Generation O events are for students and young professionals aged 18-35. You must sign up for the Generation O listserve to participate in events.

MOVIES: NoMa Summer Screen (L St. NE between 2nd and 3rd NE) presents Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. Free, 7 p.m.

MUSIC: It’s an international affair at the 9:30 Club (815 V St. NW) tonight with Mono hailing from Japan and The Twilight Sad, who call Scotland home. 7 p.m., $15.

TALK: John Waters, ever mustachioed and smirking, known for his films Hairspray, Pink Flamingos, and Cecil B. DeMented, comes to the Smithsonian’s S. Dillon Ripley Center (1100 Jefferson Drive, SW) to talk about his new book Role Models.
