JAZZ: Jazz in the Garden at the National Gallery of Art’s Sculpture Garden features the Berklee World Jazz Nonet (part of the DC Jazz Festival) tonight. Free, 5-8:30 p.m.

MOVIES: The Japan Information and Culture Center at the Embassy of Japan (1155 21st Street NW) is hosting the fifth annual EuroAsia Shorts film festival, centered on the theme “Joy/Sorrow.” Free, but reservations are required. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the films start at 6:30 p.m.

CLASSICAL: 3-11: A Concert of New Music presents works by three DC area composers (Sarah Horick, Brian Rice, and Richard Zarou) 7:30 p.m. tonight at the Lyceum in Alexandria (201 S. Washington Street Alexandria, Virginia 22314), and on Sunday night (June 6, 7:30 p.m.) at the D.C. Arts Center (2438 18th St. NW). Tickets: $10.
