Still not sure how much you’ll be paying for your daily commute come June 27, when WMATA’s massive new fare hikes go into effect? Metro’s Trip Planner can now tell you.
Assuming no other changes to the fare schedule are made before the board takes its final vote later this month, the Trip Planner currently reflects the complex fare increases that are set to begin this summer. Just set the trip date to June 27 or later, and you’ll be able to see the adjusted cost for your most frequent trips. Make sure to plug in what time you generally leave, too, as that 20 cent peak-of-the-peak surcharge is also included when your departure time is between 7:30 to 9 a.m. or 4:30 to 6 p.m. on weekdays.
