Two men dressed as construction workers pulled off a daring daytime robbery of an armored truck near the Columbia Heights Metro station at around 10:15 a.m. this morning, reports ABC7. With all the construction taking shape on 14th Street NW in Columbia Heights — it’s gone from gentrification to constructification — it must have been no problem for two black men, aged 35 to 40, to blend into the crowd. Investigators believe there may be a connection to a robbery of a check-cashing shop in Southeast two weeks ago, which was also carried out by men posing as construction workers. Contact police if you think you’ve seen the getaway vehicle, a blue-and-green minivan parked in an alley between 13th and 14th Streets NW.
